N-Gage Game Reviews: Glimmerati
Posted by: GodLikeMouse on Dec 23, 2005
Glimmerati Screenshot This is a very cool racing game, with great storyline graphics, decent in game racing graphics, a catchy soundtrack and a good story line. This is especially cool when you realize it's on a phone. The whole premise behind Glimmerati is that you're a new found millionaire, with your wealth having been willed to you from your rich uncle who recently died in a jet ski accident. While trying to get in with the rich and famous you realize you need more than just money, you need to be a member of the Glimmerati, an elite racing club. The racing club is composed of rich and famous people from around the world... [ Full Review ]

N-Gage Game Reviews: Tomb Raider
Posted by: GodLikeMouse on Aug 27, 2005
Tomb Raider Screenshot Tomb Raider on the N-Gage is just like the original tomb raider was. The controls and moves are just as complex, rather stunning actually. I was actually quite amazed that they were able to get the side flips, hangs, climbs, etc. down perfectly. The sound is decent and the graphics are quite good considering that it is on a phone. You start off in your mansion and go through the training grounds just like in the original title. The levels are quite large, so much so that you may actually find yourself getting lost... [ Full Review ]

N-Gage Game Reviews: Red Faction
Posted by: GodLikeMouse on Aug 25, 2005
Red Faction Screenshot Ok now Red Faction back in the day was a pretty fun idea, but just for future reference FPS games are very hard to play with a digital 4-way pad. So in this version of the game you spend most of your time trying to get you player to look in the right direction so you can shoot your enemy. This type of game control get frusterating real quick. If they were going to develop this type of game for this type of game deck. They should have made it so that you automatically look upward or downward at the closest enemy. That way you wouldn't have to hide around corners trying to get your player setup with the correct pitch and yaw to kill whatever is lurking around the corner. The graphics are ok, not too impressive at all. I pretty much looks like the original doom. The sound is decent, the gameplay itself and control is terrible. Please don't waste your time with this one. [ Full Review ]

N-Gage Game Reviews: Pocket Kingdom
Posted by: GodLikeMouse on Aug 25, 2005
Pocket Kingdom Screenshot When I heard there was an MMORPG coming out for the N-Gage, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Once it was out I grabbed a copy and started playing. Low and behold a few minutes later I was completely bored. Everything I had read about this game had hyped it up so much. Although the idea itself is quite revolutionary, the game itself is not so great at all. I was hoping for an RPG where you get to control you character, level him/her up and bring him/her into battle. This is nothing like that. In this game, you send your guys out to scout an area and the almost always find some small castle or fort. Then you create an army of four guys and send them into battle. Once in battle, you do get to do anything but watch them either kick butt or be slaughtered...lame!!! The game is repetetive far beyond what normal RPGs are, the sound is ok, the graphics are decent at best. Personally, I wasn't too impressed with the graphics, they could have done a lot better. The game play is flat not 3D so that should have left a lot of room for some really breath taking scenery and characters. This game to me was a total let down.  [ Full Review ]

N-Gage Game Reviews: SonicN
Posted by: GodLikeMouse on Aug 25, 2005
SonicN Screenshot This game to me is just like one of the old Geneis Sonic games. The controls and graphics are almost exactly the same. However, this is a brand new adventure with completely different levels and level bosses. You also have the ability to play a few different Sonic characters, each with their own special powers and drawbacks. The power-ups remain the same as do the style of bonus levels. I liked playing this game more or less because I'm a big Sonic fan from way back when. This game though seems a little slow at times. I think it's due to the N-Gage game deck not having the ability to render the screens fast enough. I found the game to be a little sluggish at times. Overall though, I have to say I did enjoy beating it and once I started playing I couldn't put it down until it was finished. [ Full Review ]
